Alex Vernon is an artist. And best of all, he is an onsite artist, who can make a hand-cut portrait of you, your child or even your dog in less than 10 minutes!

Alex hand cuts paper portraits in silhouette form that you HAVE to check out for yourself. They are so cool. Trust me. You'll want one.

Maggie's Pottery - September 8th!

Colorful, unique with a bit of whimsy, Maggie's Pottery is delightfully fun and functional low-fire earthenware pottery pieces for you and your home. And of corse, all of Maggie's pottery is made completely by hand and is one of a kind.

Serving pieces for your favorite foods, all of Maggie's pieces are safe to eat from, and may be used in the oven and microwave (careful not to put a cold piece into a hot oven!).

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue - September 8th!

Everyone in Ballston has been so generous in the past, we have to do it again! It's Artist Raffle Time! And, our charity of choice for for Saturday, September 8th is:

LUCKY DOG ANIMAL RESCUE ORGANIZATION

Lucky Dog is an all-volunteer, non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless animals and educating the community on responsible pet ownership.

So, whataya say we hold a raffle for Lucky Dog at the next Market on Saturday, September 8th? They'll hang out with us all day, share some information and host a raffle, where ALL ticket sales will benefit their wonderful organization.

Veronneau Returns September 8th!

As you know, awesome visual, tactile arts aren't the only thing the Ballston Arts Market is known for. We also love to incorporate music into each and every one of our shows. Because, after all, music is definitely an art form!  

So, great news, Ballston! Our favorite jazz band returns for the third time in September! Veronneau is back with their beautiful signature sound blending pop and jazz from around the world.

Veronneau performs around the world and we are lucky to have them at our intimate Market, so don't miss your chance to see these well-known musicians perfecting their craft.

Kosmoceratops - Art Squared - September 8

Yah! One of my favorite photographers returns to the Square on September 8th - Kosmoceratops - Art Squared is back!

Local picture-taker, Erica Kissinger, really manages to capture the playful humor of the every day in her colorful, unique photos. From attack toy sharks to dino couples in the sun, Kosmoceratops brings life to the things you may not have thought capable of emoting feelings.  

And best of all, many of her images are recreated on blocks, so they are ready to adorn any lucky wall.  Check out Erica's artwork at the next Ballston A&C Market on July 14th!

But for our main interest, Grey Moggie Press is an AWESOME letterpress stationary creator! Simple. Elegant. Artist, Melanie, is one of the DC's best letterpress instructors (check out her workshops in Silver Spring!) and we have her at the Ballston Market.

Brighter Day Beads Returns September 8th!

After a small hiatus from the Market, Brighter Day Beads is back and they mean business ... well ... by business we mean bright colors, adorable beads and just plain fun!

And not only does Brighter Day Beads has a ton of youthful beaded designs to choose from they can also host jewelry-making parties! Your children will get to explore the expressive world of beading with a talented instructor who will teach basic design and color theory, encourage personal expression, provide inspiration and promote creativity in a fun and enjoyable way for all participants.

Brighter Day Beads will be displaying plenty of colorful necklaces and bracelets at the next Ballston Arts Market on Saturday, September 8th.

Saturday's Market Wrap-Up!

What a wonderful Saturday we had at the Ballston Market. Great weather (thank you again, Mother Nature!), great people, great music and of course, great crafts. What more could we ask for? :)
