SCRAP (School & Community Reuse Action Project) is a non-profit organization that inspires creative reuse and environmentally sustainable behavior by providing education programs and affordable materials to the community.
The SCRAP Creative Reuse Center combines a retail shop offering an ever-changing variety of materials suitable for art, craft and school use with a public workshop room, inspirational ideas and instruction. Re:Vision Gallery presents fine art made from at least 75% reused/reclaimed material.

Thanks for the plug, Ballston! As our date to appear at The Market nears, we'll take this opportunity to mention our even newer website at www.ScrapDC.org. It's got scrappy info specific to us in DC, where we're just about to move into our first permanent location and hope to get our own Re:Vision Gallery up and running soon.
For those of you planning to stop by for a crafty -- and *free* -- make-it take-it, please plan to bring us your scrap and trash, too. Really! Once on our ScrapDC.org site, check out the donations links for "Materials" and "Terracycle" to find out how much of what you currently toss can instead be repurposed or recycled. Start collecting now and we'll happily take it on the 13th. [Any one party with over 2 copy-paper-sized boxes of stuff, please contact us in advance. We may need to make other arrangements.]
